I'm not even sure if this is the right place to post it, but I have an idea/request that I would like to see happen. Anandtech has asked to pay to use the subscription service, and alot of us have. I paid just cause I appreciate anandtech so much!
Here is my idea....
Is there anyway we can offer an email service for anandtech subscribers? It would be so cool and very nice to have a yorname@anandtech.com email address. Anandtech doesn't even have to run an full scale email server, just a forwarding service would be nice to have.

It's been suggested by several people and it would be "neat". I'd be all for it but my gut tells me it won't be happening any time soon 😉

It definitely was, one of the problems I saw with it would be how much bandwidth and administration it would take. I think the costs would outweigh the benefit.
 
The only people I see benifiting from this is the FS/FT users. I don't see any other reason why people would even use it. Personal opinion anyways. 🙂

True, anyone who is gonna be on here must already have an email address... And if they need another one, hotmail is fine... No sense spending the money on stuff like that, spend it on some BANDWITH BABY!!! 🙂

Hiya, we have been thinking about it, but it would definitely not be @anandtech.com as thats the corporate email and would present entirely too many issues. It would be @somethingelse.com if we did do it

yes, forwarding would be nice, so that we can have it forward to our hotmail accounts. i don't see any harm in letting subscribers use hotmail or other free email stuff...

zuni... would it have to be somethingelse.com? a lot of places use a subdomain, so one for anandtech might be like @nef.anandtech.com. i think nef would be a humorous subdomain... much better than the boring old "mail" or something 🙂
 
It would not have anandtech.com in it 🙂 That would pose entirely too many problems. Think of all the people that would try and impersonate a staff member with an anandtech.com address. Nuh uh 🙂.
