Nowadays my RAM "problem" is one I would never have imagined I'd have back then, I have more RAM than I actually need or use (16GB). Ah the days of memory optimizers!
DOS had its own memmaker. Never could get 386Max tweaked to what I thought was optimal. QEMM seemed best. We used to have contests on who could get all their TSR's loaded and have the most sub 640k memory. I think the best I did was 633K and that was with a soundblaster pro and scsi cd rom!
