Ok in win XP if i set up a computer to run a monitor at 100 hz and all is working well, now i give this computer to a friend who has an older monitor that cannot do 100hz so he can't see crap! how can we change this without going back to the original monitor and drop the hz to 60? He can enter safe mode but because safe kills certain stuff it won't let you edit this! HELP!

see that is the problem in safe mode your monitor does not show up in there so as far as i know there is no way to remove it to make it redetect it. Any ideas here???

Well the only thing i can think off would be to hook up the monitor that works, boot up, and change settings that would work with the older monitor.

Before the computer starts booting windows hammer F8 to bring up the start options screen (like safe mode, ect). Try enable VGA mode. It should boot at 640x480 at 60 Hz and then you should be able to adjust it.

Ya I tried that too just a second ago and it seems like you should be able to change drivers/setting in the "enable vga".
