Ok this will be very vague. But here goes. The singer has a British accent and there's a lot of effects (reverb/echo) on their voice. I think there may be gun shots in the song. The chorus is really repetitive and ends with like "dee da day"

Yeah, I just thought it sounded a bit reggae-ish in a way, the endings of the lines rhyme with the OP's line he thought he heard and it has some gun shots in the song too.
