my bro's PC refuses to boot up.. all i need to find out is what the beeping code means..

it has 2 sec long consecutive beeps during boot up: beeeeeep *pause* beeeep *pause* beeeeeep

I've searched everywhere in Epox website but no tech support # or guide. What does that beeping mean?

My money is on bad memory. You might want to remove/reinsert it in the unlikely event something isnt seated. Minendo will probably give you more specifics, but that couldnt hurt

Most of the time, yes. I have run into occasions though where it must be in slot 1. Is there only 1 stick in there right now?

ok i just got back from poking around. I don't think memory is the problem. I have two memory sticks, one 256 crucial and one 512 mushkin. crucial is my brother's PC where the symptom occured:

1. so it is assumed based on the beepcode, crucial memory is bad right?
2. I take out the crucial and put it into my PC and it boots up fine.
3. I take my mushkin into his PC and same symptom occurs

so it can't be the memory.. i think the motherboard is just fuct up.. what do you think?
