A quick grammar question about "websites"

To those members of the community who have experience in creating PowerPoint presentations and "TPS reports" for the corporate world, I would like to pose this question: is the proper professional way to indicate a collection of HTML documents written "Website" or "Web Site"? Dictionary.com seems to state that although the words used to be separated, through common use they have become joined together. Nevertheless, it should be widespread knowledge that just because it's commonly used and it's in the dictionary, doesn't mean that it's proper in formal English (i.e. "fvck" may be found in any dictionary and is commonly used by the younger portion of the English-speaking population, but you wouldn't say that to your boss).

My boss wouldn't care if I said "fvck" to him. Well, maybe if it was "fvck you", but not if it was "Fvck, my PC crashed".

Personally, I think either spelling is acceptable and no one will care.

Either one is fine to use. Here at work, we generally use Website.

 

I always type "website." On a parallel note, I think the correct spelling is "e-mail" (due to the spellings of e-Business and e-Commerce), but I ALWAYS ALWAYS write "email." It's a convenience thing.

If you type "web site" in google, it says "Did you mean: website" I have always used website

I always separate the words, not that it matters anymore. Either way is fine; separated just looks correct to me so that's what I do.
