the 2 year contract renewal scares me away. I have aboout a year left on my current, why would I want to be forced into another 2 years of at&t crap?

Hopefully an unlock solution comes out. I mean you can buy this direct from Apple.

Apple phone + unlock = Month to Month plan

You mean if you can unlock, you can use a prepaid service like Virgin Mobile?

I'm pretty sure Virgin Mobile is CDMA just like Verizon/Sprint

The funny thing is that it is $400 with 2 Year cingular contract. But it is still $400 if you buy it straight out and not use it with cingular.

Then instead of signing up with the 2 Year plan... you use it on your month to month.

But I'm not sure how the internet will work out. But I would def get internet access if I had the iphone.

Just played around with an iPhone and I really like it. My verizon contract ends next month. I may become a convert.

Rule #1: Do not pay more that $100 for a smart phone with two years committment
Rule #2: Wait for Google phone, it will be open platform, world wide unlocked with much faster processor, better battery life, style, usability and overall design. What's your favorite search engine? Google? What is your favorite smart phone? Google phone!
