A question regarding martial arts

Would a program featuring:
  • Tai Chi Chuan/ Chi Gung "Yang Style"
    Aikijutsu/ Aikido "Icho Ryu"
    Kickboxing/ Muay Thai/ Boxing
Filipino Kali Arnis Eskrima "Willow System"
    Jeet Kune Do
be suitable for children aged 4 (almost 5) and 8? The program is supposed to be geared for ages 4-12 in age groups, so the two children would not be in the same class.

For someone who is not knowledgeable about the martial arts, the list above is not very descriptive.

Thank you in advance for any information/insights you can give me.

What do you mean by suitable? I'm a fan people of all ages learning some form of martial arts. Great for the mind and body.

Definitely not. The Filipino Kali Arnis Esrima "Willow System" is quite graphic and teaches young minds how to rip out people's intestines by uttering a mystical incantation. Say away! 😉

Sounds pretty sweet. Make sure you check out the instructor first. The instructor is the most critical element in the martial arts' program, particularly with children. Someone who is great at training adults might be horrible with kids.

As long as that Carradine guy is teaching the Tai Chi, he who just motions his hand and puts fires out or knocks doors down without touching them. Man that's gotta be some serious sh-t if he can do that! 😛

Maybe you should ask ffmcobolt. He's as DaveSohmer says, "WOO"

LOL, wonder if that's shorthand for feeling woozy ? haha !! I crack myself up sometimes 🙂

The main thing for kids is that they don't do joint locking techniques or chokes. So I would say that aikijitsu would not be great for them, but otherwise the list sounds fine.
