a question on CPU clock

I bought AMD Athlon 64 3000+ with Gigabyte "GA-K8NS pro" from newegg.com, and other stuff of course. When I start the computer, before Windows OS starts, the system says the CPU clock is 200Mhz. But it's supposed to be 2000MHz. Is there anything wrong with the system? My windows runs well and from "my computer" I can see the CPU is running at 2.01GHz.

Anybody knows why this happens? Thanks!

You probably just need a BIOS upgrade to be able to see the new CPU properly. You can download CPU-Z if you want to be absolutely certain it's running at the right speeds, but it sounds like it's OK.

Believe me, you'd notice if it was running at 200Mhz. 😛

Right. I wouldn't have installed windows on it if it was running at 200MHz. 🙂 Still feels good when I am told it's alright. Thanks.
