Your place 'inspired' this thread....but I didn't plan on saying anything about it.
(Pssssst.....the first day at his house, I cleaned it.)

And you probably put *everything* in all the wrong places, so despite being "clean" he can now probably find *nothing* in his house
I can't really answer this question. I don't qualify. Me and my roommate share a basement suite, that is more or less "out" apartment, but my Aunt lives upstairs, so she sorta takes of us.
She makes sure we have a vacuum, and cleaners and crap like that.
Me and Dave actually keep the place fairly clean since we have the stuff. But I don't know how it would work if my aunt hadn't given us all the stuff.
And I've discovered that men and women have very very different ideas of clean.
I lived in a different city (ie not with my aunt) for 12 months.
For 8 I lived with a 28 year old guy and 27 year old gal, and her dictum of clean was ALOT cleaner than what me (and I think Paul) thought was needed.
The last 4 months I moved and lived with just 1 other guy, and the two of us were reasonably clean, but not as crazy as living with a woman.
I mean me and mark weren't slobs, we did our dishes and swept up, we didn't have mold growing in half our kitchen. But we didn't dust once a week (or even once a month), and we only vacuumed every couple weeks. Enough that it didn't get filthy, but it wasn't spotless either.
Relative to most guys my age I'm pretty tidy, but I don't think I would be by a woman's standards
