How many of you bachelors are all set in your house? I mean....do you all have all necessary things like a vacuum, toilet bowl cleaner, cleaning supplies, and what-not? I'm just curious here. :) And....do you keep your place clean?

i live with just my roommate and we have all of the formentioned items. we generally clean once every couple of weeks (that means dusting, vacuuming, sweeping). but we do dishes, pick up after ourselves and the like every day. stuff piles up, but generally i would like to think we are pretty tidy.

Yes. Yes. Yes, Yes, Yes, Yes. And...yes, enough without being obsessive about it.

Thanks for asking.

Take care.

When I first moved in, I made a trip to the store with a friend and bought all the cleaning supplies and tools in once swoop.

I vacuum once a week and keep the place picked up and neat for the most part.

Since take-out is man's second best friend, I never have a lot of dishes to wash.

Laundry gets done on an 'as needed' basis.

:)

we got the stuff, but never have time to use it.

I do vacume once a month if possible, that is "IF" possible.

I "had" a roommate..... Shessh. I swear I cant figure some people out. Generally, I clean once a day; dust, wipe, wash and so forth. My roommate unfortunatly didnt understand the concept of cleaning once a day. If you clean each day you wont have to do it every three weeks. Just takes couple minutes and there you go.

But then, if you clean every three weeks, you don't have to do it each day, do you? :)

And you probably put *everything* in all the wrong places, so despite being "clean" he can now probably find *nothing* in his house ;)

I can't really answer this question. I don't qualify. Me and my roommate share a basement suite, that is more or less "out" apartment, but my Aunt lives upstairs, so she sorta takes of us.

She makes sure we have a vacuum, and cleaners and crap like that.
Me and Dave actually keep the place fairly clean since we have the stuff. But I don't know how it would work if my aunt hadn't given us all the stuff.

And I've discovered that men and women have very very different ideas of clean.

I lived in a different city (ie not with my aunt) for 12 months.
For 8 I lived with a 28 year old guy and 27 year old gal, and her dictum of clean was ALOT cleaner than what me (and I think Paul) thought was needed.
The last 4 months I moved and lived with just 1 other guy, and the two of us were reasonably clean, but not as crazy as living with a woman.

I mean me and mark weren't slobs, we did our dishes and swept up, we didn't have mold growing in half our kitchen. But we didn't dust once a week (or even once a month), and we only vacuumed every couple weeks. Enough that it didn't get filthy, but it wasn't spotless either.

Relative to most guys my age I'm pretty tidy, but I don't think I would be by a woman's standards ;)

Yes to the supplies although I'll admit my vacuum cleaners were on their last legs and I did clean every other week.
Since the girlfriend has moved in though, I think thet house is worse than it was. Too many little piles of things here and there and we can't seem to get the lines drawn as to who is cleaning what. :( (communications, communications, communications)

I'm no longer a bachelor, but I remember being one.

I didn't have all the necessary household things, I owned the bare minimum so my money could be spent on more useful things (i.e. beer, coffee, cigarettes).

I owned a vacuum, but I couldn't tell you if I EVER changed the bag.

I often elected to dispose of dishes rather than wash them.

I owned one type of cleaning agent: Comet.

When I was a smoker, anything that wouldn't burn was considered usuable as an ashtray.

Since getting engaged, I've been "reformed". Not to say that I don't get a little sloppy from time to time, but I'm nowhere near the slob I once was. My fiancee, of course, takes the credit for this.

hi hzl :)
