A question about newegg.

I ordered an epox 8rda+ from newegg. the first board came doa. i rma'ed it and the next board that came was also dead. at first i thought it was something else but i checked everything at a friends house. everything else was fine. so this is the second time i am sending my board for rma.

my question is that can i get a abit nf7-s or some other mobo for rma exchange. shipping a mobo back is not cheap. either way i pack it, the total weight is at least 4 lbs. and its cost me 8 bucks each time shipping it back. does newegg rma exchanges or can i only get the same thing back every time?

if yes, then what should i get abit or asus deluxe. ?

If the warranty period for a refund has not been exceeded, an RMA request for refund can be placed online and then the new item can be purchased (also online) and the RMA item will be refunded when received. First off, I would call them. Their CS people are very helpful and if you explain the situation, they might let you do that. As for which board to get, the Abit NF7-S is the better board IMO. 🙂

is it worth the extra 40 bucks to get the nf7-s?

maybe its just my luck. two doa board the first time i purchase from newegg.
 
I had a similiar problem with two 8rda's myself. Before doing the second RMA, I dug a little deeper and it turned out the pins on the USB header was incorrectly mapped to my plug. The board booted up fine once I disconnected them. Evidently there's some sort of built-in protection for this type of thing to prevent shorts.
 
im starting to wonder why everyone recommends the 8rda+. seems like quite a few people are having trouble with it DOA, and reviews don't show that this is a top-notch board...i know it is a cheap board but.... doesn't seem to be top quality stuff IMO
 
Look at the above post..had same thing happen....try that and it will prob boot

I have always found epox to send out boards that need updated...I mean boards with old Bios on them and old revisions. I would go with the Abit board myself...just personal preference...the epox works well once its going. There is also a Soltek board on the market that looks to be more bang for the buck, then even that epox board
