A question about dieting

So if someone is about 50 pounds overweight, runs 1.25 - 1.50 miles per day, and eats less calories than they burn (meaning they have a net loss), how will they look once they lose those 50 pounds? Will the fat disappear, or will they need more activity?

Some people say that if you eat less calories than you burn, and do a little exercise, it can go a long way over time. However, others have said that eventually, you plateau, no matter what.

It depends on the rate at which the fat is lost. If you lose 1-1.5 pounds of fat a week, your skin has a good change of rebounding and going back to a tighter state. If you do it at a rate of something like 3+ pounds a week, you may not be so lucky. You won't plateau if you keep adjusting your calories to your new body weight. It's pretty simple.

I'd imagine they'd look 50 lbs lighter. Might be a good idea to throw in some weight lifting of some sorts to build some muscules. Should be better for the metabolism also. Otherwise they'll probably still have that pear shape. Skinny fat boy syndrome?
