A question about Catholic priests

I know that Catholic priests can't get married, but I'm not sure about it. Is this true? And if they can't get married officially, how do you think, is it also forbidden for them to have a lover or something like that b/c this is a big question for me, I think whether it has anything to do with getting married or not. So what do you think about it?

Well, what do boys have to do with it? The reason I'm asking is b/c I'm ot married or anything and I'm thinking whether I qualify for a priest or not.
 
Catholic priests take a vow of celibacy, which basically means they take a vow to be alone.

Catholic decons are similar to priests, but they are allowed to marry and have children.
 
No, they are not allowed to marry. Sex outside of marriage is considered adultery by the church, so they are not allowed to have a "lover", as it would be breaking one of the ten commandments.
 
Catholic priests are not allowed to get married.

Since the Catholic church also frowns upon sex outside of marriage, this should also clarify whether or not priests are allowed to have lovers.

You are thinking of becoming a Catholic priest? Seriously? Why don't you just become a career criminal instead, then you don't have to qualify. You just have to be smarter than a Catholic priest.

You don't "qualify" for being a priest, like you'd qualify for a tax deduction or something, you basically enlist just like you would the military.

You give up your life, all of your stuff save for maybe a few personal items, and you go live at the church with the other priests.

I think this is wrong.

Deacons are allowed to be married before they're ordained a deacon. However, I don't think they're allowed to be married after being ordained into the deaconate.

Actually, you have to be accepted into the seminary. They don't take everyone who applies. Someone who doesn't know whether or not priests can be married, and therefore hasn't seriously considered this and what it means for them for the rest of his life, probably would not be accepted into the seminary.

well yeah, but the way I put it was because I was giving a description to someone who doesn't have a clue about this.

 
By the way there seem to have been studies that more small boys get ... well, you know, by priests which are not allowed to get married than by priests which may marry... hmm...

Oh, and why would you want to get priest? Esp. if you don't seem to know such essential things?
