It happened on a cold and misty evening. I could taste the humidity in the air as I left a neighborhood Pricechopper, the local food store outlet. Caring a single weighted grocery bag I worried about its seam and tensile strenghth. As I approched my vehicle, I discovered a rain-soaked purse sitting in a rusty absent shopping cart. Carelessly discarded in the deep 40 of the parking lot, I contemplated its significance and the distress one feels when they misplace such a personal item. I then acted in a decent and proper manner and brought the water logged leather handbag to a customer service kiosk making sure to present the satchel to a group of employees. I did not look in its contents for fear it might tempt me. I can only hope one day if I should lose my own wallet, it might be returned to me in much the same fashion.

I saw a purse and some objects lying in the middle of a 4 lane street near my house. I parked and spent time getting everything out of the street. I had to go through the items to find her and return it. She pulled out of a local shopping area leaving her purse on her roof.

Should have checked for ID and returned it straight to the owner. I'd be worried about the employees just pocketing the money. Anyways, good work OP.

I once found a purse. I got in it and found the owners ID and looked up her number. The person that answered the phoen at her house gave me her work number. I called and she asked me to bring it to her work.

I drove downtown. Spent 30 minutes looking for parking. Spent another 30 finding her office. When I finally handed it to her she started tellign me it didnt really matter, she was cancellign all her checks and credit cards anyways. Generally treated me like crap and didnt even thank me. I felt like a criminal for trying to be nice.

Next time Im goin shopping!

That reminds me. I found some girl's driver's license the other day. It's been expired since 2003. Should I track her down and return it to her?
