a program that will encrypt a folder

Hi .,

I am looking for a software that will encrypt a folder or even a drive.
I need to make password to protect some of my files.

are there any software that will do it?

don't you have to "backup your key" using XP's encryption? I have heard people encrypt stuff, reformat, then cannot open the encrypted files because they lost or didn't backup their key. I may be confusing this with somethng else, though.

PGP has been around for many years but they're kind of expensive. They have software that will encrypt your entire HD for $150 I believe or software that can create encrypted volumes on your HD for $80. I've used them for years without any problems (except the initial cost of course).

Yes, you should back up your key if you use EFS.

Vista is better about prompting you to do this.
