Is there a program that creates mp3's from music notation?

I want to lay down some piano notes, and then a program will automatically create an mp3 for me.

Possible?
Is there a program that does this?

MP3 and midi are two totally different file formats.

MP3 is an audio file, midi is the representation of an instrument + pitch + duration.

To put it in perspective, it's like me sending you a word document giving a very detailed description of a picture & you asking for a program to convert it into a JPG.

He knows that midi is different than MP3.

Use the midi creation program to setup your song (I'm not real familiar with midi software but you should be able to put it in as musical notation if you're using good software) then it SHOULD allow you to play the output to a wave file which can then be converted to MP3. If you can't output a wave file just play the file in the midi tool and use windows sound recorder (or some other recording tool) to record what's currently being played on your sound card and convert the resulting wave file to an mp3 file.
