Huh??
Your links are blocked from my work.

But I'm talking about statute 545.154 where anyone entering or leaving an access or feeder road onto or off a highway has right of way in Texas. Look it up

http://www.statutes.legis.state.tx.us/Docs/TN/htm/TN.545.htm

That statue states

Sec. 545.154. VEHICLE ENTERING OR LEAVING LIMITED-ACCESS OR CONTROLLED-ACCESS HIGHWAY. An operator on an access or feeder road of a limited-access or controlled-access highway shall yield the right-of-way to a vehicle entering or about to enter the access or feeder road from the highway or leaving or about to leave the access or feeder road to enter the highway.

that someone on a feeder road (Those entrance/exitways that are shared with both entering and exiting traffic in a cloverleaf) is required to yield to someone who is entering or exiting the feeder road. It says nothing about the traffic actually on the highway.

Crap, I remember looking this statute up years ago for a similar argument. It was easy to find and now it's not listed at all. I know that they had started to place merge signs at all high entrance ramps where an on ramp didn't have its own lane. Must have replaced them all and done away with the statute which has happened before. They are doing the same thing with exit ramps off the highways and trying to make them all have their own lane and create the double white line so that exit ramps can't cross over. Which means the access roads don't have to auto yield the right of way either. But that hasn't gone through in all instances yet because they need to rebuild all the exit ramps to be further back to make that happen and that would take much more time and effort than a bunch of merge signs.

I'd say HumblePie is looking at this, Situation 8 part.
access_road_yields_to_highwayFlow.PNG

Which is on page 4-3 of that PDF. Note that it refers to if you're on the frontage road and a car from the highway is going to cross in front of you, head on, and other various situations while two vehicles are on the frontage road.

Here is a real picture via Google Maps Street view. Facing South, you'll see a yield sign, that is for the northbound cars to yield to the southbound driver going onto the highway.

i basically never see someone doing 55 in a 65 in the far left lane. usually it's someone going 70 in a 65 while other traffic is going a bit over 70. or similar.

This. Happens to me all the time on the Hardy. Mostly in the morning but sometimes in the afternoon. The bitches just don't want to move the hell over

we really don't have that sort of thing here (very few cloverleafs). a feeder road in texas is a roadway alongside the interstate.

Okay, I read the article:
"But nothing comes close to the level of irritation that comes from being stuck behind someone doing 55 in a 65 in the far left lane."

How the fuck are you "stuck behind" someone, unless there is traffic in the lane to the right? I've found that far too often, traffic is really bottle-necked; it's a 65 mph zone, but NONE of the lanes are going 65. Yet, I'll be over in the left hand lane, with some idiotic moron flashing his lights at me to get out of his way. Fuck you. If the guy in front of me was going faster, and the guy in front of him, and so on and so on as far as I can see into the distance, then I would be going faster than the jackass behind me flashing his lights. In fact, last time I was on the NYS thruway, there were several areas where the traffic became quite heavy and slowed in all lanes. 3 or 4 times, one of these self-important asswipes would get behind me, flashing their lights. Yet, when traffic lightened up, not a single one of them ever passed me over the span of a hundred miles or so.

Really, in Texas bigger has to yield to smaller? That's really weird, and completely ass backwards. In both states I've driven a lot in, Oregon and New Mexico, smaller ALWAYS yields to bigger.

If I have to hit my brakes while you're merging, you're doing it wrong! D:

Just to let you know, those three items are illegal in Texas a a few other states. For some reason people don't realize that Traffic on the highway must YIELD to traffic entering the highway in Texas. And traffic not speeding up on a ramp to enter a highway is also breaking the law.

One other thing I must point out that I ran into several times this weekend is the idiots that forget about being able to do a left turn on red on a one way street. Serious why the eff to I have to wait 3 extra minutes per light because some dipshit doesn't know he can turn left on red there?

care to cite the traffic law on that?

bad (aka female) drivers. ugh

last weekend i was on this highway. 1 car going like 60 in a 70 zone in the left lane. i see 2 cars pass it on the right. i come up and pass (going around 80ish) on the right too. then more traffic comes, a trail of vehicles, and instead of passing on the right, they get aggressive on the female's ass. then she pulls a wtf. i'm the only one in the right lane, no traffic behind me, plenty, plenty of room for her to verge and fall in behind. what does she do? does she fall in? nope. SHE SPEEDS UP, CUTS IN FRONT OF ME, AND PROCEEDS TO SLOW DOWN

People smoking PCP then going driving is a bigger problem than anyone wants to admit. Sometimes they do stuff like you just experienced. Today I was driving on a highway where the speed limit is roughly 65mph. I'm doing about 70 but I'll be ready to slow down to 60 if someone merges at retard speed. This one dipship in a truck merged going about 30mph. I had to slam on my brakes to not hit him. It wouldn't bother me if it was a Geo Metro doing that but this is a full size Toyota Tundra with a V8 and almost 400HP. He wasn't forced to go slow; he was intentionally trying to kill me. There's no other rational explanation for this.

Some days I wish I was a cop. I would give reckless driving tickets out like candy. Those are the bad ones that cause your insurance rates to triple and you absolutely need to fight them in court if you want to keep driving. Merging at retard speed should be considered reckless driving especially when it's done in a vehicle that has 400HP and it's obvious that the driver is trying to cause an accident.

I don't usually signal when I change lanes. Too many people gun it to cut you off when they see you want to merge in front of them. I always signal when making an actual turn though.

If you don't signal, you aren't getting in front of me.

If you do signal, I'll make room for you.

Your choice.

In the DC metro area a signal to change lanes is a signal for the guy in the lane you want to get into to speed up to prevent you from getting in that lane. End result is people signal simultaneously with beginning to change lanes or don't bother signaling at all.

Yeah thats what I've noticed in DC and Virginia.
Its like freakin pre-school out there.
