A pretty sizable oversight in Robocop I've never noticed before

I'll keep it spoiler-free:

Robocop goes to the top floor of a skyscraper (or at least one of the very upper floors) to confront an apparently crooked company exec. Some events lead him to have to flee the person's office. After going down one flight of stairs....

... he's in the parking garage. Or did I miss something?

Also - does anyone know if the place Robocop hides out near the end of the movie was filmed in the same location that Ahnuld escaped to in Total Recall? It looks the same to me.

Maybe they just saved the time by cutting out the part where keeps running down. Is it relevant to the timeline?

No, they didn't cut anything out.

He's chased from the office by a mech, which falls down half of the flight of stairs. You can hear the mech struggling to get up as Robocop opens the door to the parking garage, where he is confronted by police.

I guess they figured that in the end it affect the plot and didn't bother to fix it, or maybe they thought no one would notice.

There's another movie that has some REALLY bad day/night fuckups, but now I can't remember which one it was.

A scene starts mid-day, then all of sudden it's night, and then afternoon, and then day again.

I just realized that Robocop came out in 1987. Just a heads up, the statute of limitations on spoilers is well under three decades.

I'd rather be safe. Many younger members especially probably haven't had a chance to see an older movie like that yet.

When it comes to spoilers my motto is "don't".

There is the scene where the bad guy calls the ladies a very bad name implying that they weren't nice and difficult to get along with yet they seemed very, very friendly.

Not quite that bad, but Transformers had a scene that starts out in the afternoon and then all of a sudden it's night.

Robocop predicted:

-The death of Detroit
-The mass privatization of government
-DVDs
-Drones
-Super violent multiplayer children's games
-Private military companies
-Media industry consolidation

So it gets a pass on the single flight of stairs.

I remember that and thought it was weird even as a kid.

I also remember laughing my ass off to the cyborg samurai or whatever in Robocop 3, when he punched one and then it like shifted its jaw back.

That's what Kansas means in the Chickasaw language.

There's a local tribe...Kickapoo

The ending scenes were filmed at an abandoned steel mill outside of Pittsburgh. I don't know where Total Recall scenes were filmed. I thought Mars.

No, I didn't mean Mars, I meant the place where Ahnuld takes the cab and watches the video on how to get the bug out of his head.

A lot of those scenes were shot in Mexico City if I remember the commentary correctly.
