A Pleasant Day of Chainsawing (a true tale by your pal, NuclearNed)

Carl teach you to keep the chain sharp?

he's given me a lot of chainsaw tips. Generally, Carl's theory is that no matter what it is that I'm doing (like sharpening the chain, making a cut, breathing, etc.), I'm doing it wrong.

Don't get me wrong - in spite of his contrary nature he's a great guy. I have a huge amount of admiration for him.

What is weird is this: after the day was done, Carl was back to his gruff if not somewhat amicable self. It was almost like the day had not happened. We chit-chatted about pleasant things, and he gave me a ride back to my house.

Because that is what real men do. You get pissed, then you either A) Kill the guy, or B) let it go and move on.

In the woods with a tractor and a chainsaw, be glad it was B.

tbh it got a little boring and i skipped to the end. needs a cliffs. 6/10

That's practically blasphemy!! NN stories should never have cliffs! In fact, after Ned's death we should collect his stories in an unabridged leather-bound volume. They'll outsell the works of Twain, Dickens, and every other so-called author out there.....

10/10!!

(OK, maybe that's a little over the top, but the sentiment remains)

I was just thinking, tonight, that it had been a while since the last truly great NuclearNed tale. As always, entertaining without being overbearing! 😀

I seriously think NNs stories are worth publishing. They're interesting, and engaging, and you don't need to invest a lot of time. They're good for a quick bit of entertainment when you have a couple minutes. I'd give serious thought to an Ebook only release. I like Ebooks due to ease of use, and not having to deal with a publisher and other crap. It's also cheap, so there's no risk.

Exactly! This was a fun story, and made me lol plenty. <3 NuclearNed!

I agree with the ebook thing, i don't post often, im a lurker... but when I do... I make sure its relevant and counts - make an e book!

I haven't read any of the other stories but if they're anything like this one it than they're all great. Those that write tl;dr get over yourself.... not everything should be as fast as mcdonalds drive-thru learn some patience.

You bastard!

Some things in life come from great searching, and blind luck. NN posting true brilliance is something one stumbles upon like a truffle in the forest. Make it accessible to the masses and the world becomes better for everyone but us. NN should continue to delight a select few, a whore we need not.
