I remember right after the Oklahoma City bombing, it was Taliban this, and Arab terrorist that. Who was it guys? Two white-bread hicks named McVeigh and Nichols.
This is a good point - but even if it was some kind of islamic militant faction (which is really more likely than a couple of hicks, considering how complicated this attack was), it is just that, a faction.
Did we retailate against every hick, anti-govt militant when McVeigh did his thing? No, becuase their hate for us does not make them guilty of the attack, even their celebration over the event does not make them guilty of the attack, nor would it justify a response.
Terrorist attacks are hard to respond to because they are elusive elements - its like fighting a smoke cloud. We need a solid, visible, clear central unit to really respond with military might, and this simply is not the case when terrorists are involved.
