Fighter planes in pittsburgh? I know I am about 10 miles south of there, but I have yet to see or hear anything about that.

possibly explosives in 2nd plane or planted in buildings according to news. makes sense since 1st plane didn't do all that much damage. collapsing both is insane.

ESPN said that the planes had been launched to those sites -- did not specify if they were in all those locations yet. Keep your eyes open; they'll show soon.

This is incredible. My heart goes out to the victims families. I am too disturbed to do anything today except maybe to donate blood. I'm going to be watching the TV all day today.

I remember right after the Oklahoma City bombing, it was Taliban this, and Arab terrorist that. Who was it guys? Two white-bread hicks named McVeigh and Nichols.

This is a good point - but even if it was some kind of islamic militant faction (which is really more likely than a couple of hicks, considering how complicated this attack was), it is just that, a faction.

Did we retailate against every hick, anti-govt militant when McVeigh did his thing? No, becuase their hate for us does not make them guilty of the attack, even their celebration over the event does not make them guilty of the attack, nor would it justify a response.

Terrorist attacks are hard to respond to because they are elusive elements - its like fighting a smoke cloud. We need a solid, visible, clear central unit to really respond with military might, and this simply is not the case when terrorists are involved.

Trust me, I know about that one, I am only a few miles from where it crashed....but have yet to hear about fighter planes even close to here.

Has anybody seen anything from the Pentagon? I'm a few miles away, and I can see the smoke, but I have no idea what it looks like.

I am so f**king angry.
 
I just would like to say taht I am in Arlington VA, which is in the same county the Pentagon is in. We did feel the bomb at the Pentagon, since the windows did rattle. It was very scary and I still am shaking. We could not leave the school unless we had our parents pick us up.
