I doubt any decent person could ever take joy in something like this...but people can surprise you.

I'm not a big Bush fan, but I will give a Republican White House one thing: they definitely know how to act when under attack/siege.

darn both towers down, and the news is going crazy. internet is going crazy too! Its so hard to believe this is happening... :(

The day is just starting on the West Coast. Several prominent high rises in LA are being evacuated.

Stuy is one of the better HSs in NYC. It's a little north of the WTC, on the Hudson River.

Hate to say it, but we many see nukes used in our lifetime.......

Anybody heard: do they know where Gov. Pataki is? Thought his office was in the WTC.

Also, they moved the emergency management/ disaster office into the WTC about two years ago, supposedly because it was safer there.

Everything here in NYC is closing. My son had a Dr's appt. today, and the office has closed for the day.

Ran into a few hysterically sobbing folks in my lobby, so guessing we lost a few residents from our building.

Reports say the first plane in NYC came in low right down over 5th Ave (over the Rock) and banked right, into the tower.

Phone lines our of NYC are working on and off.

All public schools in MD are closed.

Naval Academy is closed.

Social Securtity Administration is closed.

All planes are grounded in the USA.

I live about 30 miles west of MacDill Air Force base and a report from there said they're on alert (and I hope I get this right) "Treatcomm Delta". According to the reporter that is the highest level and means a state of war is imminent.

at least 20,000 people in the two buildings, plus emergency workers, plus surrounding buildings, this is a tragedy, just heard on tv that up to 50,000 people could be dead or injured, my dad's working in the city, i talked to him before the second building collapsed, i hope he's alright his cell phone is down, anyone outside of ny flipping through the channels tnt, espn, usa and a bunch of other channels have been showing news on it, peter jennings is on espn right now

as for the economy, which is not important at all right now, we are pretty much going to get hammered, europe markets are getting hit hard now, and so is the dollar

anyway i pray for all the victims of this tragedy and their familys, may God help them
