Problem is, even we got such a leader, Congress would still be there.
What we need is a Constitutional Amendment limiting Congressmen to two terms.
Oh, and while we’re at it, this “Congressional Limitations Amendment” would also 1) Prohibit them from raising their own pay, 2) Would tie their pay to a “national public service” index (Meaning, average out the pay of all the teachers, policemen, firemen, and military service members in the USA to create this index and then pay Congressmen some 10% above this average.) 3) Would force them to have the same healthcare benefits as the “average” American, 4) Would make earmarks illegal, and 5) Would make amendments to bills illegal. Meaning, one could not include an amendment funding a bridge in New Mexico tied to a Defense Spending Appropriations bill. And 6) Would require all Congressmen to be audited annually by the IRS and would force junior Congressmen to take the equivalent of the AP US Government test. Results of both the audit and the test would be made public.
