I assume many of these people haven't even read her book. You have the Palin supporters giving it 5 stars and the Palin haters 1. I expected something like this when I looked at the reviews but not so comically divisive. Probably the only people who really read it were the 10% in the 2,3,4 crowd.

My favorite part is that these people seem to think that the validity of Sarah Palin's politics is somehow connected to the quality of a book she didn't even really write.

What I wouldn't give for a strong leader to come along, someone who has a "get it done" attitude who has never been in politics before, someone who will balance the deficit, start paying off the debt, fixing our education system, etc. and who will say "F you" to the partisan hacks on both the extreme right and left. Ignore the "hot button" social issues like abortion, gay marriage, etc. and concentrate on what needs fixing now to ensure the continued viability of this nation.

Yeah that is pretty funny. People actually bother to rate it without even reading it. All about smearing the other "team" while cheering for your own..

Amen brother.

Preach it!

:p

Seriously though, I've never even voted for someone I actually wanted to be president.

It's always voting for who might suck less, which is just sad.

hehe, hilarious. From what I've seen from the book(not much mind you) it sounds like trash. Funny to see such a disparity of opinion though.

Problem is, even we got such a leader, Congress would still be there.

What we need is a Constitutional Amendment limiting Congressmen to two terms.

Oh, and while we’re at it, this “Congressional Limitations Amendment” would also 1) Prohibit them from raising their own pay, 2) Would tie their pay to a “national public service” index (Meaning, average out the pay of all the teachers, policemen, firemen, and military service members in the USA to create this index and then pay Congressmen some 10% above this average.) 3) Would force them to have the same healthcare benefits as the “average” American, 4) Would make earmarks illegal, and 5) Would make amendments to bills illegal. Meaning, one could not include an amendment funding a bridge in New Mexico tied to a Defense Spending Appropriations bill. And 6) Would require all Congressmen to be audited annually by the IRS and would force junior Congressmen to take the equivalent of the AP US Government test. Results of both the audit and the test would be made public.

Good one.

You can see this thread already devolving into a Palin bashing/supporting thread, however :) Thanks, the usual hacks, for missing the point :)

This person cannot be elected to any high office in the land.

You simply cannot raise enough cash without becoming beholden to the interest groups. For all of his(Obama's) $1, $10 etc donations from regular people, in truly unprecedented numbers, still was completely overshadowed by industry money.

I'd say perhaps Jesse Ventura was partially successful for a while, Arnie for all his economic girly man talk, cannot overcome CA's broken system.

The two parties have gerrymandered themselves into very rigid districts and don't really have to fear anyone but their base, appeals to the center aren't necessary for re-election.

Tom Friedman wrote in an Op Ed this week about how we fail to ever really confront or resolve our biggest issues because we can only produce suboptimal solutions to every problem. Just about all legislation is completely watered down by the need to appease each and every one of the players and it basically never does anything.

Unfortunately, whether most Americans realize it or not, the entire voting block of the US is nothing but another interest group, and I'd say the majority of the time, our concerns are trumped by Big <whatever industry> - we just cannot compete with their influence.

#2 - Then they will just try to raise the index by giving worthless teachers raises
#3 - Then they will give everyone cadillac healthcare so they can too
#4-6 - We all want to live in a land with rainbows and unicorns but ain't gonna happen

I am desperately hoping she runs in 2012.

Speaking as a strong liberal, I hope not only that she runs, but that she wins the Republican nomination as well.

Obama! Four more years! Obama!

Teachers making more money = smarter children??

I dunno whether to laugh or cry at your stupidity.

If you can't equate better pay to attracting more talented and better teachers, you need to revisit the tenents of capitalism. Our teachers suck because the pay sucks and isn't commesurate with the work involved.
