A pat on the back for me, one year ago today I stopped smoking.

Congratulations! Feeling better, I hope?? 😀

I just hit 6 months smoke free, nicotine free!! wooooohooooooo!!!! Did it cold turkey, so to speak, after 23.5 years of smoking! Got so sick I couldn't smoke for 5 days. After that, it just seemed stupid to take it up again, especially as I had been wanting to quit. My body was nicotine free, so all I really had to give up was the habit.

I've had a couple cravings since then, especially when I see other people enjoying the smokes I used to enjoy (after meals, especially!!), but I just remind myself what I gave up ......bad breath, nicotine stains, everything smelling like smoke, bad health.....wow, what was I thinking??:laugh:

Now I'm back on a kick to get myself into good physical shape again, losing the extra weight (man, they're not kidding when they talk about your appetite coming back with a vengeance!!), and trying to get myself back to as close as I can what I was 20 years ago.

Though I don't remember all those sore joints back then!!:laugh:

Here's to ya, ex-smoker. Keep it up, and live better! 😀

Congrats! I couldn't mean it more. I am also trying to quit and am learning just how hard it is to do so. Good luck and since you made it this far you should me smoke free for life. Congrats again.
