System 1:
T-Bird 1.2
128 Crucial DDr
Radeon 64 DDR
3dMark2k: 4797
3dMark2001: 3308

System 2:
P3 800@900
128 PC133
Geforce 2MX
3dMark2k: 5859
3dMark2001: 1836

All other components are the same.

How come system 2 beats system 1 in 3dmark2k by 1000 while in 3dmark2001, system 2 beats system one 1000?
What's going on!?
😕

dude...it looks like you r mixed up...according to the numbers in your post, system 1 beats system 2 in both bnechmarks

haha...ok looks like you fixed it...im not really sure why your second system is better in 3dmark 2000, but i can tell you that benchmarks don't mean much...real world performance is much more important

Are you sure that the benchmarking settings were exactly the same for both systems? I don't believe the 3DMark2001 score for System 2. Everyone knows that the P3 outperforms in games. 😉

First of all 3dmark is all about nvidia cards, especially 2000. Radeon cards have been known to suck at it. For 2001, doesnt the Radeon have partial DX8 features? Therefore it would be faster. That on top of that fact that its faster than the MX because of all the memory bandwidth it has. Which moves me right on into thinking that 2k1 needs a lot more memory bandwidth, while 2k does not, therefore the MXs nvidia-ness wins in 2k, while the Radeons bandwidth wins in 2k1.

Sorry if that seems a little incoherent, it was more of a type what I think post. 😉

ur mx score is a little low, i get 2200. but otherwise, dont fret about it. its just benchmarks. =) could be the tbird, if u know what that is, of course..
