Got my HDD and RAM the day before yesterday: 2 4GB sticks of HyperX Red and a Toshiba DT01ACA300 3TB. More RAM's always good (Planetary Annihilation's MINIMUM requirement is 8 gigs) and the DT01ACA300 is crazy silent.

Sadly, it doesn't do quite as well as my ST2000DM001 in benches.

Looks nice, but is your RAM in the correct slots for dual channel mode? I thought that usually the alternate slots are matched. Shouldn't it be Red-Blue-Red-Blue instead of Red-Red-Blue-Blue?

congrats
I've noticed that performance can vary from drive to drive, even the same model numbers.
I had one DM that did 185MB/s and another did 205MB/s
my toshiba gets like 215MB/s
Maybe it's just the fw version, or some background stuff that may be running.

Dunno. I thought that maybe the two kits might have different memory chips inside them, so I thought I'd dedicate one kit to each channel.

Probably doesn't matter though.

I dunno if it's just me, but the DT01ACA300 feels... faster? when loading games than the Seagate. Dunno if it's just placebo or because the HDTune latency of the Toshiba is a lot lower (~13ms vs 20ms on the Seagate)
