I'm not sure how much you'd be willing/want to with your CPU completely maxed out.

It won't hurt anything to be be doing other things as well. I don't play games while it's going on, but I'll browse the net or work on a document. Make sure that round-off checking is enabled or the whole thing will be pointless anyway.

however when i start doing other stuff on it,i realized that either one of the core will be slower in the test.is that normal?

The 'other stuff' is taking up CPU time, so it is normal for one test to take longer to complete.

As PlasmaBomb said, it's nothing to worry about.

Just make sure if you are running "other stuff", save your work. Crashes just may occur. ;)

IDontCare posted this in the other thread and Is pretty good advice too.

You should leave it be while running Prime95. Anything you do on the system while it is running Prime95 will actually cause the program to be less intense on your components, which will potentially give you a false postive for stability.

Consider that the purpose of running Prime95 is to stress your CPU's to 100% load, specifically with it's load.

Running anything else will consume CPU at the expense of Prime95, which will then produce an artificially lower Prime95 loading on your system.

If you are running Prime95 to determine if your system is Prime95 stable then you shouldn't do anything with the computer as this will interfere with your goal.

I find doing things like web browsing while using prime sometimes destablises the system more than just running prime.

wow i was thinking that i run prime95 and do other things at the same time will stress it more.didnt expect to have a negative result on that.thanks for the advice.:)

Generally, I test it both ways. I have it run at least 8 hours overnight doing just prime95 and also prime and doing other stuff to test. Sometimes things can be prime stable but unstable when other components in your build or controllers on the motherboard are also being pushed.
