I really don't see it as being that difficult if you are even a mediocre drummer. My neighbor plays drums in a local band and called it "just playing normally".

I think that type of drumming would be in a category way above "just playing normally". Its one thing to be able to play drums fast from memory, but to watch the screen, interpret what colors go to which pads then hit the pads all at that speed is pretty crazy.

People who play these games on expert usually do it by memory. It's near impossible to interpret what's on the screen and reproduce it that fast, much less in proper timing.

Not really. A real drummer doesn't have colors to tell him what to play or what note to hit, just like any musician.

If you play the song enough times the colors don't mean anything nor does watching the screen. You're just playing the song you've practiced and know.
