A Muslim's opinion of Bin Laden

This is an actual messegae posted on an actual site that I frequent:

"As a Muslim American I guess I have to condemn, reject and renounce Osama Bin Ladin. In reality I don't think he exists, just like the boogie man doesn't exist. In fact, I don't know any Muslim who disagrees with me, quite humorous if you ask me. But sad for those who believe this man can plot attacks on the most advanced nations in the world, yet he can't even afford a decent video camera. "

As the poster states, he/she doesn't know of another Muslim that disagrees. My question is do most Muslims REALLY feel this way? Another user of this site posted a counter-point that basically stated Muslims should open their minds and be free-thinkers ... but the posting was removed as being "mean". So much for free speech ...

If the poster of this message is even half-true ... then we are all screwed. Sometime in the near future one of these fanatics is going to push a button and the Earth is going to explode.

Hang out in Alabama and you'll be hard pressed to find many people who don't approve of Bush. It doesn't mean there aren't people who think he's a fvcking buffoon (which is the rest of us with a brain :)).

What do they think he is if they don't believe he is real? Like some sort of animatronic puppet man?

It's a well known fact that all muslims think alike. Sort of like the Borg, but muslim spaceships are spherical instead of cube shaped.

I think the muslim might have meant, that Bin Laden does not have the power that
is percieved on TV. Not that he as a person doesn't exist, but his power to control
a majority of terrorism.

The question is, do you believe in what he is doing? Not to put you on sthe spot, but I'd like to hear your point of view on him being that you are Muslim. I'm not going to bash you for your faith, and I hope no one here does so either.

Haha, yeah I was just sorta bein a dick.

While I think he has some influence, I think we objectify him as the source of a lot of terrorism just because it's more simple to point at one person rather than a whole network of individuals. But I really don't know much about terrorism or how it all works so my opinion ain't worth too much. ;)

I mean the dude is real. What he did I don't know ... I was never convinced my the media or anyone that he was behind what happened. I am not saying he is a good man, I don't really care. I don't believe the US really couldn't find him ... thats some BS. The camera fact along other facts I know make this whole thing fishy IMO.
I remember back in 01, I went back home to visit and the media and news paper were saying completely different things than over here. I got to see both in October 01.
And if you watch loose change they talked about a dude from casablanca, Morocco. I assure that fact is correct, cause my aunt new the guy and she told me back in 01 that the media was BS, it must be true.
Well I am not blaming the media, but whoever is controlling it.

Bottom line, I really hope I found out who really killed all the innocent people... and I hope they burn in hell, god will bring their lives back... and burn the f8ckers over and over.

I can't say I know exactly what he is doing, considering all I see is media or by word of mouth.

I don't believe in putting out threatening videos/tapes etc, or training people to do the same and follow through on threats.

I also don't believe in going to war for bad reasons + drawing it out over a long time, causing even more deaths on either side.

I was born in Canada and have lived here all my life. My parents are from Pakistan and have lived here for well over 25 years. I am not a prolific Muslim and do not pray 5 times a day, but I do go by some of the rules placed such as not drinking.

Thanks for calling me out.

I don't think Bin Laden is that big a threat anymore.
I think when it all started he might have had some power, but I also think he had lots of help from other organizations.
After reading about him I can't see how he could have done something like what happened on his own, he didn't have that kind of power.

Considering they believe in a being for which no evidence exists, it's no surprise that they don't believe in a being for which plenty of evidence exists.

my boss is Muslim and he hates Bin Laden with a passion. He told me he would hunt him down and strangle him with his bare hands. My boss feels Bin Laden tarnishes all Muslims and the he deserves to die.

Pretty strong words for my boss, let me tell you. He is normally a pretty quiet man, but this topic makes him very mad.

Me too.

Anyway, is it any surprise that some Muslims would rather believe that the most notorious Muslim extremist in the world doesn't exist? I'm sure there are some nut-jobs many Christians would like to swear off as well.
