It may have found my price.

Does anyone here have an active account? Is it fun for 30 days at least?

I played it for 15 minutes then uninstalled it.

It's not even worth playing at free.

But did you play it recently? I heard it sucked at first but some say it improved.

I agree it has the same feel as every other banged together mmo lately, doesn't show any signs of love from the developers.

It's definitely worth $5 for 1 month. It probably won't hold your attention for that long though.

I don't regret paying full price for the game but I do look back and think... I shouldn't have bought it on an impulse buy and waited.

I wasn't far off this. I may have made it through a couple of hours.

Not sure what improvements have been made but at launch it was bleh

I bought it for $3 when it was on sale on steam a while back. I still haven't installed it. That said, I was in the beta, I found it mildly amusing. IMHO it would be worth playing if it were F2P.

I liken it to Star Control 2, in 3D.

It had a hell of a lot of potential, and the ship-to-ship combat is kind of fun. Ground combat, however, is utter shit and is far more common than it should be.

DPS is not high enough and healer mobs heal way too quickly. There have been fights I've been in where it was my party against three healer mobs (which also rez, by the way). The fight took almost 25 minutes and these were supposed to be trash mobs.

Just not that fun. Cool concept, but very poorly executed.

Every dollar someone spends on this game encourages over publishers/developers to do similiar horrible things to their games. Do your part don't pay money for PoS games.

Eh, I thought the ground COMBAT was done rather nicely. Especially the away missions that take place on enemy ships. The away missions that require you to run around and NOT KILL anything sucked royally though.

Apparently you weren't doing it right with the combat though. I never had any problem toasting most all mobs. Of course, the key was to use AOE guns in your entire squad, and use a batleth as a melee weapon to go up and faceplant any mob that caused you trouble.

I had to log in to share my thoughts on this game. I should also admit I have not played it since about a month after it's release so it may have improved a ton.

In my opinion as an mmo the game wasn't that great at all. It wasn't horrible but there is no way I'd fork over 15 bucks a month for it.

With that said I paid full price for the game and I do not regret it. Let me clue you in on a secret that will let you enjoy this game.

If you're a Star Trek fan, buy the game for 5 bucks and just tell yourself that you've just got a great deal on a single player Star Trek game. I'm dead serious. The story is kind of cool, the ships look sweet and the star ship combat is pretty satisfying. I honest to God feel as if the game was fun as hell to play. It starts to get bad and you start to realise it's failures when you start looking for the "mmo" aspect.

I know the above may sound dumb but I'm telling you, buy the game for 5 bucks. Treat it as a a fun single player game for Star Trek fans and just know ahead of time you have no desire to play after the first free month. Hell who knows, maybe you'll end up loving the mmo side of the game as well. I doubt it, but it's possible.

I doubt there is a bigger Trekkie out there than me. I can basically speak along with every next generation episode, and I've read a lot of the extended canon stuff, most of which is terrible but some of which is quite good.

Anyways, I beta tested this mmo, and bought it when it came out just because it was star trek. After a while, I even had to admit to myself how terrible it was. Reskinning an mmo cliché in Federation and Klingon uniforms does not make it good, even for the Trek obsessed. Away missions are repetitive and stupid, ship to ship combat gets old real fast, the whole thing is a hack job looking to cash in on other people old ideas. I wouldn't play it for free.
