Did anybody see the movie, "A Mighty Wind". It had the folksmen. They are the same guys that did Spinal Tap. I watched it again last night and I love the Fred Willard scenes like "Wha Happened" and "I don't think so".

It is a "mockumenty" or as Spinal Tap calls is a "rockumentry". It is from the same guy who did Waiting for Guffman and Best in Show (I have not seen either one of them). I was just curious if any of the older peopel have seen these as it is a drier and more witty humor that the teens probably wouldn't be attracted to.

I saw the preview for it, I thought it looked stoopid - no interest in it whatsoever.

You really think so? I think I like it a little better than A Mighty Wind. Both are good though.

I thought it was boring for the most part. I fell asleep (albeit briefly) while in the theater. Some of it was pretty funny though. Mockumentaries just aren't my kind of thing.

From what I hear about they guy who does the movies (Christopher Guest I think his name is). It is:

Best in Show>Spinal Tap>Waiting for Guffman>A Mighty Wind

Spinal Tap, a classic, quite funny
Best in Show, haven't seen
Waiting for Guffman, haven't seen
A Mighty Wind, not terribley funny throughout, but had some awesome moment

Love Spinal Tap, that's the best. That was my life back in the 60's - 70s', welcome to way-down-from-top-level rock 'n roll. They really nailed it.

Best In Show. So-so the first time, gets better with repeated watching (my 13-yr-old son loves watching stupid comedies over and over). Great movie.

Waiting for Guffman. Not as good, and not as good repeated watching.

Mighty Wind. Not the absolute best, but some amazing moments. Thorazine man! And the guy pointing up to the ceiling and saying, hey, there are lights up there. I've only seen it 5 or 6 times so I don't have it memorized yet.

As the old saying goes - if you like that kind of thing, it's the kind of thing you'll like.

if you like hit and miss improve you'll like it. i prefer more polish. mighty wind was too soft, atleast spinal tap was pretty savage with its characters.

best in show was better then might wind, but i wouldn't say thats much.
