That's good to hear you had such a good experience with Dell. My experience was less than stellar, after jumping from one CSR to the next that barely spoke English.

I Posted this just because of the "HOT DEAL" on the EXPIRED....... Outragous 4600 deal.
A lot of the folks are getting worried about their deals going bad.
I thought this might help... Dell doesn't seem to be ALL bad....

Edit...This may have been better to post in the Brag & MOAN forum but I thought it needed more exposure.
LOCK-IT if you have too.

Dell doesn't seem to be ALL bad....

Go check Dell's "Customer Care" Forum. They are pretty much all bad, with a few exceptions.

What would you expect in a customer support forum ?

btw, my experience with the support forum was very positive, they have real people there who actually work to resolve problems.

Ummm, yeah. It's a customer care forum. People only go there when they have problems. I am sure that most there are looking to gain from Dells mistakes. I have had many good transactions with dell and have never been to the forums.

I guess my experience was mixed.

I called for a heatsink for a 400SC server (not standard of course). :disgust:

They pulled up the wrong part number and so I got a fan instead.

That said, when I called them about the problem, they quickly found the right part, overnighted it to me at their expense and did not even want me to send the wrong part back as it was not worth enough to bother.

i think dell is pretty good. just becuz they don't let "hot dealer's" rape them all the time doesn't make them all bad. if u guys despise dell so much, go for compaq, hp, gateway, or whatever.... have fun with those.

IMHO.... dell > hp, compaq, gateway, etc...

You brought up Gateway and reminded me of something that happened to me when dealing with them. I was looking to get one of those Connected DVD players that they sell bundled with a network PC card for $199. I had heard that they sold it unbundled, w/o the network PC card for $149. Already having several network PC cards and not wanting to buy more, I used their online sale chat to inquire about obtaining the item unbundled. I was told that they never sell it in this manner and that all prices are non-negotiable. I was told that I was incorrect about the availability of this item. The sales associate then abruptly left the chat and closed the room. I looked at the clock and it was 11:59 AM. He or she went to lunch in the middle of a sale. I stayed in there typing every profanity known to man. I got on the phone and called a Gateway B&M and they had what I was looking for. They even shipped it to me for free.

If you are interested in this item, it is pretty cool.
