Okay, without really realizing what I was doing I went ahead and got the Soltek SL-K8AV2-RL. Since this is my first time building my own computer, I looked at the specs and looked at some user reviews and it seemed fine to me, but I was wondering if perhaps I made a mistake. Because I now I know how socket 939 is the future, and so is PCI-Express. But I didn't know how soon those things would take over and leave me in the dust. I was planning on getting an Athlon 64 3400+ and an GeForce 6600 GT for now. Also, I don't know if I saw this correctly, but I guess Soltek's motherboards aren't really good overclockers? Or what?

If this should last me for a few years then that's fine, I'll just get what I was going to get and then upgrade a few years down the road. If not, should I just sell this brand new motherboard and wait for the nForce 4 motherboards to really start coming out or what?

Socket 754 performs almost as well as 939. Same for agp versus pci-e. The 754 boards are more mature, and have fewer problems. If the containers are unopened, you can try selling them in your local paper or ebay, but I wouldn't take a loss. Also, expect to spend about $60 more for a socket 939 rig with nforce3 and agp. Nforce4 prices may drop in Jan, but I wouldn't pay what they're asking for right now.
