I have a compaq 725us, and was hoping to update bios.

Compaq doesn't have a updated bios file, and in it's support file it says my bios should have 4 tabs, 2 that show cpu and drive info.

My bios only has 2 tabs, 1 tab for boot and one drive for password set, PXE? and thats it.

Qeustion is, how can I find my mobo part number So i can search the maker for a driver?

Also, why is it when i right click on "my computer" it doesnt show accurate cpu speed, it has a 1.4g and it shows like 433, or 864 sometimes

sounds like your CMOS battery may be dying, causing the BIOS to reset to defaults. check your FSB settings, sometimes called System Clock or System Bus. I would open your case and look for markings on the motherboard itself.
