save it as a txt file and then rename it as a .reg file

If you edit it in notepad, click File -> Save (as?) then make the file type say "all files" and then type in whatever filename you want .reg

i.e. google.reg, foo.reg, etc.

If anyone's interested in doing this in Opera, there's a nifty small app that will do just that. Eg, on my system, 'pm function_name()' shows the respective entry in the PHP manual - neat!

type msdn <search> to search through msdn
type kb to do a search on kb articles
type jpn to do a japanese translation
type german to do a german

Gave me the same message (I named it google.reg then right clicked / merge), guess it doesn't work in 98SE....

Replace "Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00" with "REGEDIT4" (without quotes obviously), then save and try merging again. Worked for me Win98SE. Backup your registry first JIC.
