OK, so I have a project with 2 frames (thus far). The first is background plus small movie, which ends with one link (a text button).

I am trying to make this link go to frame 2 (not frame 2 of the small movie, but of the entire scene).

I have labeled the frame I want it to go to but when i go to do the action, that label does not show up in the list (on easy mode, not expert). Also, if I tell it to gotoandstop scene 1, frame 2 rather than use the frame label, it still does not work.

Can I not link a button in a movie to a frame outside of that movie?

on the main timeline ? use _root.(name) instead. Easy mode isn't going to tell you this kind of stuff. You should read up on at least the basics of actionscript (or actionscript 2.0 if this is MX 2004).
