A little dolphin question...........

I hate when people think they know things like how many condors are left or how many dolphins there are in the world. How in the hell could you possibly know how many dolphins are in the world? Are you sure you didn't count any twice, or maybe some didn't fill out their census forms?

Anyway, there seems to be about 20-30 a week that go by the local beaches.... doubt that's gonna help much 🙂

It has nothing to do with statistics. In statistics, you take a sample from a population, find out information about that sample, and apply that information, with a reasonable degree of certainty to the entire population.

Can you tell me how, using a statistical formula, you can determine the size of the population based on the size of a sample? you can't.

<< well what is the pretty accurate number? >>

Apparently you want everyone else to do your schoolwork for you. Are they going to get your grade too? You have been given a resource where you can find the information you need. I suggest you look there to find out what you want to know, instead of getting others to do your homework.
