I have recently lost the ability to play Diablo 2 in "3D" mode. I re-installed the game, my detonator drivers, directx and win98se but it still crashes in 3D mode after a few seconds or a few moments. I'm trying to avoid clean installing all my stuff because it's such a pain 😛 so I hope someone has an idea of what's going on. My other 2 3D games (UT and S.O.F.) seem totally unaffected by this though. That's why I'm stumped by it. I assumed the missing file or changed setting would be restored by the re-installs of the software, but, no such luck. Any suggestions are much appreciated. Merry HOHO...
 
what video card do you have?
there are known conflicts with 64MB video cards and d2.
if you haven't already done so, make sure d2 is updated. 1.03 is the patch that addresses several video card problems, but since 1.04 is out, get that one.
