That's actually an old blog post he made last year that I agree with. It's also why I prefer Qt for development even though I use Gnome 3 everyday. 😉

I'm a little concerned. I generally prefer the look/feel of GTK apps, and am still running a GTK2 system. If/when Xfce goes to GTK3, it'll be a real problem keeping things running.

I used to be a huge fan of Gnome, but I can't get behind the project anymore. There's literally nothing they've done recently I've liked, even taking Gnome shell out of the equation.

There should definitely be concern. A lot of artists that make GTK3/Gnome-shell themes has either stopped making/upgrading them or scaled back their work. The same goes for the Gnome shell extensions.

I would like to believe that because it's a young project that there's a bit of churn. However, it seems that the Gnome devs make changes that break things and don't document the changes.

Also, the Gnome dev that told the transmission devs that they have to choose if they want to be a Gnome program or a XFCE program is a twat.
