I would explain that you were tricked into buying this (LOUD) and you are not getting your rebates. Explain how dissatisfied you are and that you want the rebate NOW (upfront) or you want them to take the modem back and refund all internet fees that you've paid so far. If they refuse, threaten a lawsuit. If they still refuse, walk out and never return except to drive customers away. Make sure you do all of this in an area where lots of customers will see. After your encounter at the store, if you are still dissatisfied, make another call to the corporate offices and explain EVERTHING that happened. Include the gas and time you've wasted driving to and from their store. I can't imagine you not getting something out of all of this if you go this route. They are treating you like crap, and you shouldn't have to take it. Let them know that.
