A late night "I'm tired" dumb question...

If I have to format my HD, and I will lose my top level in "COD WaW" and have to start over, could someone just send me their config file and I could use it?

I told you, I'm very tired...

I don't own WaW but everything I've seen has it just like COD4. In COD4, there is a directory

COD4\players\profiles\your_profile_name

that contains your config, saves, and a file mpdata (IIRC) that contains your stats. You should be able to save that and copy it over after you format.

I didn't have enough info in my post for you...

My MB is dead and removed from my case. If I replace the below MB with, for example, the P5Q Asus, will all my data, settings, and programs, etc.on the HD...work fine w/ new MB...or if not, would I be better off just getting the same MB as a replacement? ...because I would rather not have to format and reload everything... HATE THAT...

no need to format after putting a new MB in. At WORST you do a clean install and your data will still be intact, 99/100 you can do an upgrade install of XP and it will work. I've done it myself dozens of times and never had it not work. If you have to a clean install XP won't delete your old user data, and at worst there you might have to poke around to find it. I would not listen to any yokel who tells you "format!" a new MB isn't that serious.

You might encounter some problems running WAW again as I did after swapping out mobos... I also have COD MW and it was crashing too. The culprit, .... the audio drivers; I had to reinstall my audio drivers and they both work fine now

Wouldn't hurt after you put in the new mobo to first boot in safe-mode, so the OS will not get overwhelmed with 'new stuff' all at once. Just a thought.......

Interesting, folks...

I'm going crazy on our slow laptop....only time-waster game is Desktop Tower Defense and Chess when the brain wants exercise. Let's face it, when you need to vent, you need COD...
