Hmm, was busy inside too? Seems a no-brainer to park the car, walk inside, and be gone before 4 or 5(guesstimate) cars get served. If it was late at night and the Drive-Thru was the only thing open I could understand, but the pics seem to indicate 7ish in the evening when the restaurant part would be available.

Up where I used to live in Vermont we had a Wendy's down in the mall, like 15-20 years ago before it shut down. They opened up a new one like 5 years back, right next to a McDonalds and down the street from BK (which sucked and shut down 3 years ago). It was nice for a while because so many people would go to the Wendy's that the McD's was never busy and no lines, plus they were trying extra hard to get things right so the food was always tasty.

After a while things died down though, it's still popular because of the chili and potatos and whatnot, things McD doesn't have. Weird though, they share a parking lot yet both do very well there.

And there's some other bbq place going up just to the right of the CiCis pizza on SPID. I have no doubt that place is gonna be packed for the first couple of weeks also.

we had a Taco Bueno open up just a couple months ago in the same town as OP's JITB. I don't ever remember it being busy, even (read: especially) the first day

That place is almost never busy. I've never seen more then 1 or 2 cars there when I drive by. 'Course, I don't really go to that side of town much, I stick to the SPID and downtown areas by the T-heads.

sandorski, from what I could see, the parking lot was jam-packed too. I bet it was standing room only inside.

That is crazy. How many fast food franchises do you guys in the states have?!. Here in .au we only have a few, mainly McDonalds, Pizza Hut, KFC, Hungry Jacks (Burger King) and Subway. There are also a couple of Krispy Kreme stores scattered throughout a couple of capital cities and I guess you could count Baskin Robbins as well. It seems like you have an endless list there though

We used to have Jack in the Boxes around here 30 years ago, but I looked it up, there isn't one within 500 miles of Detroit. I assumed they all closed up.

i didn't realize i was spoiled having 3 mcdonalds, 2jack in the box, 3 wendys, 2 carls jr, el pollo loco, pizza hut, toppers, multiple chinese take out, 2 in and outs, 2 baja freshes, 1 taco de mexico, boston market, 2 pada express, 2 ihops, 2 denny's, 2 habits, dominos, papa johns, sizzler, wood ranch, applebees, 2 burger kings, 3 subways, ameci's, me n' eds, ola's (awesome mexican take out), and not to mention many more sit down restaurants all within 10 minutes of my house. I don't even live in a busy city. Boggles my mind to think ppl would wait in drive thru for an hour. I'm sure I missed a few because its impossible to remember all the places to eat around here. OH yeah 2 taco bells.

edit: KFC, krispy kreme as well

Moved from California recently and I miss Jack in the Box, none here in NC. I don't eat fast food often, but when I did it was usually Jack in the Box curly fries and either their tacos (I have no idea why their tacos are good, they shouldn't be, but they just are.) or their chicken strip things

I don't understand where all this hate is from. Why are the people "tards" for eating Jack in the Box? You have some deeper issues man.

Anyone with a lameass skull and crossbones sticker on his vehicle has no standing to call any other person a 'tard.

Eating fast food is kind of "tarded" but waiting in line to do so as if it is "special" removes all doubt.
