Our town JUST got two brand-new Jack in the Boxes that opened today.

One of them is on the corner of Airline and SPID in the same shopping/food center as a Lowes. Well, I had to swing by Lowes today to get some cabinet latches, and look what I found:

First, a small map of the area.
Logos abound so you know where everything is in relation. The white line is the line of cars waiting for a chance at the Jack in the Box drive through. Yes, it really stretched around the back of the Lowes building, I checked.

Here's some shots of the tards sitting in line!

(Excuse the crappy pics. The white balance on my Wing was off)

I bet the people at the very end will be waiting for something approaching two hours. I was in Lowes for about 20 minutes and the cars only moved up by one when I left, and more people were still heading around the far side of Lowes to get in line!

Jack in the Box is good, but not that good.

Jack in the Box is good, but not that good.

there was a worse line in Toledo, much worse, close to an hour long in length easily, possibly longer. I worked at a car wash, and across the street a Popeyes opened, and the line went around the corner of the major intersection there and caused some serious traffic issues.
oh, and we also would get some pretty big lines at the car wash. but that's besides the point.

Oh, nice cracked windshield.

It is when you have like 5 places to eat in the entire town. We had a similar line at Ihop when it opened.

I guess so.

And thanks. I plan on getting it fixed sometime before the end of October

That is funny. I'd probably wait in line for an hour for jack in the box since there aren't any around here. I've waited in line that long for in-n-out before.

i've heard of massive lines (ppl standing, not cars) whenever a new Krispy Kreme opens. Jack's is a first for me, but then again i'll take JIB food over McD's any day! :D

The reminds me of the 4 hour lines when the Krispy Kreme opened in my hometown. It got down to a normal rush three days later and now its almost always empty.

Corpus Christi is experiencing a pretty big boom in construction and general growth, people always want to try something new. We've never had a JIB here so people went, I don't see what the big deal is. When the BK on Saratoga/Airline opened up @ they had 50 cent burgers there was a pretty solid line down there too.

we had a Taco Bueno open up just a couple months ago in the same town as OP's JITB. I don't ever remember it being busy, even (read: especially) the first day

I had JIB today. b1g1 free grilled chicken salad and medium fries, split the whole thing with the wife. took about 10 minutes and cost $6, not bad.

No question Whataburger is better than JITB. No question at all. With In-N-Out being the king of the hill.
