An oversimplification of the positions taken on the issue, to be sure.

So, if we take two land masses, each with equal amounts of natural resources, minerals, etc. Each is capable of supporting large human populations, however there is no infrastructure. None. Any humans have to build from scratch. You want food? Learn to farm. Want tools? have to make them yourself. And so on.

If you were to take all liberals, those who would vote Democratic regardless of the candidate, and place them all on one land mass. All the conservatives, those who would vote Republican, regardless of the candidate, and place them on the other land mass. Each group gets nothing but the clothes on their backs and the knowledge in their heads. No supplies, no food, no weapons, vehicles, no books, nothing like that.

Assuming no interaction, trade, communication, etc, between the two landmasses, say they're separated between wide expanses of treacherous waters, what happen to each group in 5 years? 10 years? 50 years? 100 years? 500 years? 1000 years?

Discuss.

90% to 100% mortality rate the first Winter, it is damn hard to survive in a wilderness with no tools, food or seed to farm with.

Actually that is pretty ironic. Usually it's the conservatives trying to ship jobs overseas to third world people (ie Mexicans), but at the same time they don't want to live with Mexicans.
Conservatives = all racist. all of them. no exceptions

Liberals want to import cheap Mexican labor but prevent labor from leaving the country. Liberals have a thing for Mexicans. Rawr.

Is it? I don't know about real people in the real world, but P&N is pretty well divided between people who support illegal immigration and people who are against illegal immigration.
(I don't think P&N has had any debates about legal immigration yet)

I grow strawberries and raspberries, and am fully capable of growing other food as well.
I have done quite a bit of rehab work in my basement, I can do plumbing, electrical, and construction.
I make things that improve the lives of people all the time.
I own a gun.
Much of the working class are union members and left leaning.
I also own stock, thus I "own" a piece of a corporation.

I am a liberal. (socially very liberal on most issues, and fiscally, about as liberal as Norway.)

Not all liberals are drugged out lazy hippies on pot.

When people are sitting in caves with no food and shivering from cold, there aren't any "liberals". Subsistance-level living strongly discourages it. Good luck with trying to form a (government) group and redistribute what little food etc. people have to subsist on.

(OTOH, the rednecks over on the 'Conservative Continent' will be in 'high cotton'.)
