Looks like the Golden Gay bridge, just 75 years late.

Are they gonna name it the Golden Late bridge?

Exactly how different do you think suspension bridges can look? And the Chinese have liked the colour red since before the USA was born. Should the Golden Gate be painted a different colour then?

Sorry, looks like cavemen liked the color red first. Guess they'll both have to be repainted.

Interesting they built the cable supports on direct opposite ends... so the tension is pulling one direction.

every suspension bridge I've seen has them evened out in the middle.

Golden gate bridge doesn't clash with most of it's surroundings. I think from a scenery perspective the Chinese bridge would look a lot better as a different color.

who cares what color it is ffs, I just hope they used parts made in the usa for safety's sake

The only thing that bridge can do for me is look nice in pictures. I'm 99.9999% sure I'll never drive across it. I don't actually care either, but I'm killing some time on a forum so why not comment? The US hasn't been kings of building materials for a long time.

ok, use japanese parts 🙂

The sad part is Americans don't realize that we can no longer make a bridge like that here.

We don't have the steel or cable making capability anymore.

All of the smelters are gone.

Just one of the many reasons the U.S. is really no longer a country.

A country by my definition can fend for itself.

When you can no longer fend for yourself you are not a country.

Sadly true...

But it's ok though, we don't need bridges, let me just use the telepathy app on my iPhone 99.214z

You do realize that if even the entire world would cut us off from those supplies we could take them over before our stockpiles would run out right?

As proven by our exceptional military prowess in Korea, Vietnam, Iraq, and Afghanistan...

Smash them to bits? Maybe. Take them over? There's no fucking way. There's more to taking over countries then waltzing across their border and blowing up their army.

Forget supporting ourselves and bringing this stuff home, let's just take it by force when we need it! 'MERICA!
