GET THE HELL OFF THE LEFT SIDE OF THE ROAD IF YOU AREN'T PASSING! :|

edit: oh wait... he passed on the shoulder? dude, that has nothing to do with "passing on the right." that's just stupid... "passing on the right" only happens when YOU are screwing up....

Actually, there are assholes that will pull to the right of you to turn right at a red light, and barely sqeeze in. I've noticed that a lot, and now have a tendency to check my passenger side mirror before turning right at a light.

I usually stop at a light off-center to the road now, so people can't do that. I've almost gotten clipped a few times by people doing what you described, even when I wasn't going to turn (one lane.. turn/straight)

people who pass on the shoulders= either have a HUGE emergency or are just plain crazy. When i got in a wreck...they took me to hospital. when they called my dad to tell him...he asked them if i was ok...they said they didnt know...so, naturally feelig i was serriously injured (i was not, for the record...) he did everything he could to get to the hospital quickly which inlcuded having to pass some assholes via the left shoulder becuz their were dicks like some of you who would slow down in the left hand lane....you should all be a little more considerate of others when driving...you dont know their situation. if you think something should be done about their driving...get their tag and call the cops...
i admit what he did was dangerous and might have placed others in danger...but if you thought your child was serriosuly injured or was dying etc...you wouldnt exactly sit your ass in the right left hand lane waiting for everyone to get out of ur way...

Although it was hard to read, this is true. I absolutely hate people who purposely hold traffic because they personally think the other drivers don't need to drive faster than them. People have gotten hurt around here because of that and/or have had their cars damaged.

And most probably deserved it.

Unless they have a pregnant person in the car, or are driving to the hospital because of some major injury, then everyone should follow the damn speed limits within reason. Tough sh!t. You hit someone from behind doing that, you get sued up the ass plain and simple. More often than not cops usually give tickets to the offending driver as well, which basically cements a winning verdict if a lawsuit is persued. Plan ahead so you don't need to rush so much, it'll make everyone happier. Although I do agree acting in extreme agression such as slowing excessively down on a highway is absurd. Driving recklessly is going onto the shoulder, regardless of what the hell the person in front of you is doing. I've had to go 10+ miles under the speed limit in a city before because of a handicapped driver or an older person, and I wait.. it's not that hard, but it is annoying

Driving to the hospital to make sure your child is okay is certainly a reason for haste, but that type of thing doesn't happen very often.

And driving recklessly to me is driving at or under the posted speed limit and not giving the 10-30 cars behind you an opportunity to pass. Typically, it is not because of a handicapped driver, but a moron who is in her own little la la land or on her GD cell phone.

As the light turns green I accelerated off and out of no where this Tahoe or something of the sort comes flying by me on the right shoulder barely missing me. Of course there were cars parked on the side of the street coming up and he had to gun it some more to get through. I could tell he was determined to get through even if it means hitting me so I braked and the fvcker barely nudged through at the last minute. He goes speeding off and makes a right 2 streets down before I could let him know what's on my mind.

If I ever get hit by some a-hole doing this, I will surely sue their a$$ for all they are worth.

I had the same thing happen to me once, on a street where cars were parked curbside in the right lane. Van manages to pass me on the right and pull in front of me just in time to avoid a parked car. Unfortunately, the guy behind the van trying to pass me in the right lane, can't see the upcoming car parked in his lane because it was hidden behind the van until the last second. Wham!! He hits the parked car just as I'm passing it. I laugh and pity the fool.

Not that I'm going to say you're entirely incorrect; it's just slightly humorous how you put that. I've personally spoken to an officer about that and you are only supposed to pass someone at the speed posted, period. He didn't say that he would pull someone over for obviosuly just trying to get around someone, but some officers certianly would.. and then there would be a thread bitching about it. (I am not claiming to drive exactly at the limit). You can't just make up laws becuase you don't like waiting, in most places the speed limits aren't too low, and there are laws for a reason. If you're on someone's ass (no clue if you'll tailgate) and they slam on the breaks causing a collision, you're automatically at fault. If they have a passenger in the car it's a double bonus becuase both of them saw the animal in the road or a kid on a bike that you didn't (it wasn't there to begin with).. it sucks but it's true.

It's better to have some patience, as hard as that is to believe. :)

Some officers would give you a ticket for 1 mph over. Yes, in some places the speed posted is there for a reason. Other times it is a speed trap that funds the local court house. Case in point where it goes down from 55 to 45 to 35 at the blink of an eye near NC Central. Local Deputy Doolittles hibernate at the various sidestreets looking for that $100 ticket rather than bother the dope dealer on the corner a few blocks up.

I have no problem with obeying the posted speed limit when it makes sense, but when it is retardedly low or a place for Barney Fife to camp out then that is just wrong.

it is the law that you are REQUIRED to pull to the right before you make your turn. when idiots try to turn directly from a straight-though lane or the middle of a stop sign, they both break the law and cause accidents. i can't say how many times i've almost been broadsided by SUV's doing that kinda stupid sh!t.

if they are pulling to the right to make a turn, they are obeying the law and doing the sensible thing. YOU are the asshole.

edit: i might point out that the law includes bikes lanes. you're supposed to pull over ~200 feet from the turn (can't remember the exact feet).

good job, block traffic and break the law. good stuff, buddy. i hope someone takes off your mirror because you didn't leave enough room.
