A**hole neighbors keep parking in front of my garage

You have already politely asked them to quit blocking you; so get one of those drive alert wireless units from "as seen on tv" web site for about 15 bucks. When it alerts you, go down and confront the individual that blocked your garage. Get his name and car licence number along with his name. Let him know the next time you will have him/her towed by "X" company located at "X" address, and it will cost him/her "X" dollars to retrieve it from their impoundment lot. Hurt their wallet, they can't buy their crack, and they will have to pull some more tricks is some dark alley behind a gay bar....they'll most likely move their car. If that doesn't work, battery acid takes the paint right of a car hood...then paint will not ever stick to it again (unless they sand it down to bare metal) You got to remember, they know where you live. Flat tires will get your butt kicked.....acid won't show for weeks, and you get semi-satisfaction. (just kidding...don't do anything immoral😉

"10.40.115 Fire lanes, access ways and roadways--Parking prohibited. No person shall park any vehicle or place any object in any fire lane, clearly designated as such by appropriate signs or by red paint upon the curb surface, or park or place any object, obstruction or vehicle in, on or across an established or designated exit, driveway, alleyway, or access road, whether public or private, in such manner as to hamper the movement of any emergency vehicles and equipment in the event of fire or other emergency. This prohibition applies to, but is not limited to, areas in and about any church, hospital, assembly hall, lodge hall, school, hotel, motel, condominium, apartment building, theater, industrial complex, motion picture theater, stadium, shopping center, restaurant, tent, or other place of public assembly, whether open or closed."

In bold lies your answer. Leave a note on their windshield informing them of the parking regulations, and inform them that if they park there again, they will be towed by <company>, and that if this occurs, that their car can be retrieved from <location> for $<price>. If the same car parks there again, follow through on your note. A police report probably wouldn't hurt in case they sue you for having them towed out of their illegal parking position in your driveway.

Dude, I lived on the beach back in the day, 1313 Ocean Front Walk unit #10 (Google it, it was a "Crazy" place to live) 🙂

Parking is what it is. Anybody parking in front of your garage is doing it illegally and all you have to do is post a sign and have the tow company come remove the vehicle. Sounds like an uncool deal until you can't drive your own vehicle anymore because you are always blocked by some jerk that doesn't want to park properly.

Living at the beach gets old although I will always remember my "Venice days", lol. I had memberships at both World and Gold's... and that one time with two chicks at once, lol.

Anyway, excuse my trip down memory lane... people should never steal your parking.

What did they say when you talked to them?</end quote></div>

Everytime I talk to them they deny knowing who owns the car or they don't answer the door when I knock.

"Great! Then you won't mind if I have it towed..."

If that fails, resort to violence.

Okay I sent HBPD an email so hopefully I can get some results. Thanks everyone.</end quote></div>

pay attention if it is the same car.. if it is, slash a tire or two.</end quote></div>

That's just stupid.

Agree. REALLY stupid.

Having been in this situation, I say: do not escalate to violence or stupidity.

1. Make sure you've talked to the tenants and left a note: soon I will tow.
2. Make sure you've told the landlord: soon I will tow. In writing.
3. Find out what you have to do to get it towed. In most areas, if you are the resident and it is blocking your egress, you can get a towing company to take away the offending car.
4. Contact the police if the tenants escalate.

Do all of the above. Do not email the police, call them. Did you even leave a note on the car? Sounds like you are really passive.

Better call the cops. Not just a towing service. Good to have it on record just incase things get less civil later..

That's how they do it here. We have a towing service where I work and the police have to have the vehicles towed in this situation. Call them (the policce) everytime they block your property. They will have them moved or towed and make a report. Just a few reports and this WILL stop.

This man speaks the truth. Print out one copy for these guys and leave it on the car. It doesn't matter if they actually get it or claim that it blew off in the wind or whatever. Wake up in the morning to check your spot and if there is a car there then call the tow company. You have been more than patient and civil with these guys. Teach them that if they play with fire then they will get burned.

Also, violence won't solve your issue. It will make things worse.

Yeah it's always a good idea to vandalize someone else's property so that you lose any sort of moral high ground and end up having to pay for the repairs.

Buy a boot and apply it when this happens. When the owner comes out say you have called the tow truck, but you will remove said boot for $100. Explain how much cheaper that is as opposed to tow charges, and tell them you accept cash.

Repeat as needed. 🙂

You have much more patience than I have. I would have resorted to a violent confrontation the second time someone pulled that shit on me.

They can call the cops on you for applying a boot like a vigilante.

You are an American! Exercise your right to bear arm and get yourself a hand gun.

Inform the offending party of your willingness to defend your right to use your garage to the death by posting a picture in his windshield of yourself holding a gun. Make yourself look slightly wako in the picture and praise the lord in the attached note.
Do not threaten overtly as this may land you in jail.

Let us know how it went.
