A Great George Will Column...

But, I did not write the other article AND it is from one of the larger Newspapers in the nation.

And George Will and myself know the difference between Personal Destruction and Self Destruction....do you?

Umm.. actually the column is called The Politics of Personal Obstruction but Will makes a good point. The Dems do not have a clear agenda other than watering down Republican proposals. I think this strategy(or lack of one) is actually not too bad for Congressional Democrats, especially the moderates who can run as "Republican-lite". I think most people, while generally supportive in principle of the Bush agenda don't trust the Republicans and want a balance of power in Washington. However, it isn't the right approach to win the White House. The Democrats in 2004 will need a clear agenda, something which they sorely lack right now.

The fact that you keep misquoting the name of the article (especially in the context of this particular post, which clearly seems to contemplate a misapprehension as to what it is about) leads me to wonder whether you have even read it. Have you?

No he hasn't read it, hasn't read it at all. In fact I think he's illiterate. He just found a random article, with out knowing the content at all, and recommended it.

Of course he's read the article.

The article is not even enlightening. It brings nothing new to the table at all. Its just an article recanting the same things that most people who are into politics already knew. I am sure you can find and write numbers pro-dem as well. Whats so great about it? Its a weak article. Its a waste of newspaper or webspace if you ask me.

On some subjects we most certainly agree. Others we do not. I made no claim to the fame you seem to bestow...tanks guy!:Q

Do I need a better presciption for contact lenses or do you have the title of the article wrong? It's 'Obstruction', not 'Destruction'.
EDIT Never mind. Kind of like how you haven't read the article, I haven't read the entire thread...my observation has already been pointed out😉

classy:

I believe you need to look up the definition of the word "recanting." To quote from my favorite movie, The Princess Bride, "I do not think it means what you think it means."

Tominator:

Hang in there against your detractors. After all, this is just a contest of Will. 😉

George Will is just a conservative shill who straddles the fence on occaision to look like he is being fair. Everything he said in that article is old news. If he was trying to pass that commentary off as an essay in an English class, he might be charged with plagarism, simply because there is not an original thought to be found.

But that is ok, becuase he is doing the very thing he accuses the Democrats of--rehashing old news, passing it off as new news, and acting smug or outraged by the situation. He was one of the people who pointed out that Clinton did not have a mandate because he only got 48% of the vote in his first election. Now Bush wins by an even narrower margin than Clinton, and he claims that Bush has a mandate.

George Will loves to talk big...but you know he was the scrawny little kid with glasses that got the crapped kicked out of him regularly in school...which is why so many here probably relate to him.

🙂

WordSmith2000 -- Thanks for saving me a lot of writing. My motto is, If George Will, I won't. 🙂

Harvey

Glad to see the power is back on...for another 10 minutes or so....you better email Gov Davis and thank him...or is it too late? Oh well, 10 minutes is so short....maybe next time...🙂

All Californians should know that the whole power situation is just a Colorado plot . . . 😉

Just when you're hurting for power, we're going to dam up the Colorado River. Then once all the Californians move away because they don't have electricity or drinking water we'll be moving to the beach. 😀

ha. ha... another republican idiot digging up old dirt to cover the stupidity of the bush regieme...

nothing to see here

FYI, Tominator, G Davis was NOTthe gov of Ca when that energy policy was enacted...it was a Republican as I recall...

<< The Politics of Personal Destruction >>

???

And I see you do not know how to edit your posts.

Yes, it was...and instead of full deregualtion he could only get it half done....just like Bush Sr, when you negotiate with Democrats, most assuedly Liberal Democrats you will never gain anything....and they will blaim their failures on you. Happens every time.

Red Dawn...I'll take my brand of ignorance of your convoluted brand of truth any day.

Another element very rarely talkd about is that Grey-Out Davis tried to get price controls reinstated by going to court. I think it'ts the 9th Circuit Court of Appeals, one of THE most Liberal courts in the nation, turned him down stateing how price caps do not work...they found no 'price gouging.'

George will is an extreme conservative.

LOL, people are ALREADY forming excuses about why Bush will lose in 2004.

REAGAN had his way with a conservative congress and the nation suffered for it. Bush probably will not have his way (though he thinks he should) and the nation won't suffer as much.

Rejoice.
