A great deal on the new Plextor CDRW 12X10X32X

Nater21 - Funny you should ask!
I just ordered one for my friend for $257. from buy.com with free shipping.
Then yesterday, I went to onvia.com and they are around $263. with free shipping. There is a $50 off $200, but it doesn't seem to work - but you can use a $25 off $200 code floating around to get it for around $238. shipped!

That's the lowest I've found!! 😀

where do I get the $25 off code? I really need this thing soon! And which place is it for? Onvia? Thanks for your help

Thanks for all the info. Just ordered one. Total came to 239.99 (price of drive went up to 264.99. Says it comes with media and software, which is the only reason I wouldn't buy it OEM. Thanks for everything!!

Bob/NYC - What in the hell are you talking about???!!!
What CSR? From where?
She said to refuse what?

I don't know if the drive from onvia is OEM or not,
but all warranties on OEM products are normally the same as the retail versions.

Nader - The price probably didn't go up, I just guess-timated at what I thought it was when I looked at it last night! Have fun with it - it's supposed to be a great drive!!

Hi Bob/NYC,

Actually I believe the opposite is true ... products at Onvia are retail unless it is indicated. I have purchased the Plextor 12X10X32X drive, ELSA Gladiac Geforce 2 video card, Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer, and a Hitachi monitor and all of them have been in the retail box. So go ahead and purchase the Plextor Drive ... you won't be disappointed in it!

I actually got my retail Plextor PlexWriter 12/10/32a from Onvia for $210... don't forget about Pointclick! (extra 10% off)

Can't you also get pointclick on this deal? I'm not sure how it works, but I plan on getting one soon as well. Does anyone know if Onvia still has the AMA Member?

whoo whoo, just called oniva and asked how much was shipping to hawaii, and they said FREE 2 day air. My jaw just dropped, when they said FREE. i think i'll be ordering it soon. As for that 10% off. anyone are to e-mail me how that works?

integlspwr@hawaii.rr.com

Thanks!

I've seen Onvia on PC a few times over the last week, mostly in the morning before 10am eastern time. My guess is that they are making an effort to target their discounts to new customers, as opposed to existing customers. Sorta like how we'll prob never see a non-new customer coupon code from buy.com again anytime soon. 😉

OEM and retail products do NOT carry the same warranty!

OEM's usually have to be warranted through who you bought it from.
Retail can be sent back to the manufacture (just in case the retailer goes belly up).

OEM usually have LESS warranty. Such as 6 months to a year on most parts and sometimes even less, such as cpu's which normally carries 7 to 30 days warranty.
Retail will carry usually no less than 1 to 3 years warranty, and sometimes 5 years.

I too apologize if I came across rude. I'm glad that this turned out to helped so many people. Just bit surprized that mod hasn't interrupted. Wonder if a Jr. member would've gotten the same response.

Seems like Onvia is on Pointclick during offpeak hours...

NP PhlashFire my post may have been in error, but I guess it worked out as a help to a few people. IS there any way to change the title of the thread? And take the question part out of it?

Yes. The person who starts a thread can edit both their message and the title of the thread in the initial post.

Now, please do not post requests for deals in this forum.

dude - You are right . . . to a point.
It all depends on what the item is.
IE: Hard drives, whether OEM or Retail, carry a 3-yr warranty.
CPU's vary depending on the company you buy from - I've had OEM's that are 30 days to 1 year.
