I'm serious. Of course anyone can say "Will Power" but it's easier said than done.

I gotta admit, I have a problem with procrastination. There are productive periods of time but I always end up procrastinating here and there. I'm just wondering if there's an actual technique or method that might better aid me from procrastinating... seriously.

Or you can share your success stories with procrastination.. (although if you're neffing here, it's oxymoron) ;)

anyone?

How about making a device that will shock you if you don't finish a project by a certain time.:)

Why not procrastinate? I do, and I still get everything done...It's not like I don't do a project or assignment, I just do it right before it's due....always worked for me...

its all about will power.... you have to have the attitude of just fvcking do it....

the only reccommendation i have is the following... say you have homework to do... turn off radios, tvs, lock yourself in a room, and dont let yourself leave until you are done with it... no water breaks, no nothing... you leave that room and you will find something more interesting to do...

just a few tips, NOW MAKE IT HAPPEN GOD DAMNIT!

I have developed a foolproof way to do things now. I'll tell you about it later.

I think you have to remove yourself from temptation to do other things, and then write a to-do list or a schedule, then stick to it. Of course as I type I am neglecting to study.

Don't do today what you can put off until tomorrow.

What's so bad about procrastinating anyway? As long as you do what needs to be done I don't see anything wrong with it. I don't know about you but my best ideas usually come up when I'm forced to do something.

My incentive is a house payment, do my crap and get my paycheck, or live on the street. Its even more incentive on a rainy day. :p

lol @ Sluggo

procrastinating in hours, days, weeks depending on what it is may be ok, but if you're talking about years then you're just plain lazy, lol

I procrastinate because I am *always* tired. I slept 12 hours yesterday and I tell you I could sleep for another 36 right now.

Most people I know who are very productive, then have low points are bi-polar, or manic depressant. I am that. I always wish for my manic period to kick in, as my income soars, but when I am low, my income declines. Unfortunately, the last time my low kicked in, I almost committed suicide. I either get too much work done in a short period of time, or nothing done in a long period of time.
I quit the meds, since I don't need to sleep 14 hours a day, which is what they made me do.

Anyway, if you have periods of this, then periods of productiveness, you might want to look at it closer.

My last very high period lasted about 3 years. My last very low period lasted about 6 mos. Nobody is the same it is unpredicatable, except by an expert, but only then, they can only tell you about when you are going to lapse...in either direction.

Just realize that you're going to spend the time doing it anyway; your life will be happier if you don't spend most of it with things hanging over your head. Get stuff "out of your way" and be happier.

I think it has something to do with maturity.
